I'm trying to limp my 15" 2013 Macbook Pro across the finish line. I'll buy a new Macbook Pro 15-16" when Apple releases them with ARM chips.
The fans were getting a bit dicky - I'd replaced the left one in 2017, with a fairly decent Delta. iFixit had none of the right fan in stock, so I rolled the dice on a set from Amazon. I got them tonight, and found that they were actually the same Nidec fans that were originally in there.
Now I just have to align the display hinge so it'll close again, and it'll be "good as new".

Also, I farted while I was taking a piss just a little while ago and the whole operation smelled suspiciously like tuna salad.

Just drill holes in the bottom of the case and superglue a 300mm fan to the bottom.
Think that‘ll mitigate the smell?
I heard Gorilla Glue is surprisingly effective.

Feel pretty good about that level of improvement from just a drive and a little adapter. Went from AHCI to NVMe, and x2 to x4 in PCI lanes.

Whatever got into the hinge, it's not acting up anymore. The fans from Amazon suck eggs, so I've ordered a "good used" one, and will put that in instead.
