I don't know what half of that means and I still know it's a horrible idea.

It's not quite what you think, only for serve members overseas.
I'll withhold judgement on security aspects since it's such a limited number allowed.

Their security is laughable at best. It is negligent. They’re unpatched against known exploits. This is like leaving your keys in the ignition and locking the door.

And to say that “it’s only for those overseas” as if those people deserve less security than the rest of us? They probably need it more and the relative size of the audience doesn’t make it any better either.

It’s not that a system like this shouldn’t be made. It’s that it should not put your data or our elections at risk. Wtf

If you're that concerned about what probably doesn't amount to 500 votes total then you must be on the bandwagon to insure proper voter id and citizenship at polling places that involves millions.

RE: We don't have a political image thread?
We have no recorded instances of systemic voter fraud at the polls. That is a phantom menace.

We have many many many recorded instances of shitty security practices exposing private data.

This is a simple numbers game. The tech is more vulnerable than our polling system so it must have to endure much higher scrutiny. Even the electronic suystems at the polling places are ridiculously inadequate. The systemic problem is with vulnerable systems being put in place with no oversight or critical evaluation. This is yet another example of that problem. People are willingly putting voting integrity at risk.

I had also forgotten that they're proposing a blockchain based system.
Long story short: if someone thinks that they're solving a problem using blockchain then there's a near 100% chance that the only problem they're solving with blockchain is their seed funding.
