My MagSafe 1 connector is being a pain in the ass
It has to be in juuuuuuust right for the computer to charge- otherwise the indicator light goes green, but the computer doesn't register any charge. Seems like it must just be a bad connection- I've cleaned both sides with a q-tip to no avail.

Thoughts?

It sounds like jiggling the cord solves this problem.

Check the contacts for corrosion, and go see if you can borrow a different charger and if that one works better.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

What 'book is it connecting to? I've done DC-to-DC boards in almost every generation, and it's not that bad.

I mean, unless you have applecare.

I did that on my mid-'11 MBP. It's bad, but not horribad. Just print the ifixit guide, tape the screws you take out at each step next to the step, and be on your merry way - the board was like $75 when I bought it.

I've found a somewhat reliable position for the magsafe connector, so I'm just gonna go with it for now.
