Also, there's this place. I hear it's pretty cool. It's called, get this, "outside".

I hear there's stuff to do there.

RE: My tv is dead
So it turns on, and in the dark you can see the entire screen make a faint flash, then black. No menus, nothing. So zilch pic. I checked for popped caps but didn't see any. Granted, a cap doesn't have to be swollen to be bad, but pulling the boards to check each one... Ugh. Fuses looked kosher as well

Taking it to a repair place. $30 to find out what's wrong with it. Prolly cost more to fix than to buy a new one, in which case... Shrug

I've fixed a Samsung this way before, and it sounds like you've got the same issue that that one did...

So I told the tv repair guy that u didn't see any bad caps

"No bad caps in these Samsungs"

So suggested the tab bonds as a possible.

"No tab bonds in these Samsungs. Likely a bad board"

Closest to it now would be this one. Just about identical.

Currenty $400 at best buy. But I am not buying plasma again.

If I had $2500 for a honking-big Bravia, I'd get one. Sorry my appliance purchases don't meet your stringent minimum standards.
