Now dog-less after 13 years
It finally happened. We lost our little Bear.

Whaa

The house is quiet. There's no nudge at my leg. Or blob of fur on the floor in the night. No whimper as we get home. Or bark at the doorbell. No collar jingling on the hardwood floor as he lays down.
Just silence. And the wife tripping over something.

This sucks.

RE: Now dog-less after 13 years
It breaks my heart every time I hear someone mention losing a pet. I remember how empty the house (and my heart) felt when we lost M1, and how I totally lost it when I made the wrong turn in the grocery store and ended up in the pet aisle. She was very difficult at times, especially when she viciously attacked my mom not three weeks after we got her, but with a hell of a lot of work (especially on Mom's part), she became a good dog. Always swore I never had room in my heart for another, and then our second Molly came into our lives.

Those boys look like they had very good lives. Very happy faces. So sorry to hear they're gone. Molly (2) and I send our love.
There is no dark side of the moon, really…matter of fact, it's all dark.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear it. Losing a dog is a terrible experience, and I'm sorry that you're going through it. Just remember that you gave him the best life he could have hoped for, and you made him happy every day.

And that photo of them in the shower stall? Amazing!

That really bites, man. Or doesn't, as I remember Bear was a bit of a handful in that regard.

Chewie's time is nearing, as she's 13 this year, but she hasn't lost a step yet.

Yeah, I wasn't prepared for how hard putting him down would be. I know we spoiled him rotten and he was happy, but I'm having a little trouble shaking the image of him during those last moments. I never loved an animal as much as I loved him.

Yes, but don't tell him that.
