As should be expected from here on out: a traditionally Republican outlet endorses Hillary by denouncing Trump. http://m.chron.com/opinion/recommendations/article/For-Hillary-Clinton-8650345.php

This isn't new either. This is another election where idiots vote against someone. Just like every other election in recent history. When votes go against instead of for, this is what happens.

Keep voting two party, America. Get someone just a little better than the other one. Salute

And there in lies the problem. If there were a legitimate third party that was close to my point of view I would have no difficulty voting for a candidate that is from said party. The fact that most seeking office have to be forced into this binary system is what really does a disservice to voters likes myself.

In other news:

But back on topic, that's really the crux of the problem - and sort of a catch-22. There's no viable third party because nobody votes for them, and nobody votes for third parties because they are not viable. Most other countries will have votes distributed among three or more parties, but in the USA literally 95-99% of all votes are for the two big parties, because there's the consensus that if you don't vote for the party that's less shitty then the party that's more shitty will win. here in Canada we are planning to reform our election system further, so that we will not run into this problem. I don't know if we actually follow through with it, but the Liberals made it part of their election platform and gave a timeline and we are doing our best to make sure they follow through.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

RE: Trump Trump Trump
Maybe Hillary will relocated (again)!

An part of election night -- or the part I stayed awake for -- was the shocked faces of news casters. I remember watching CBS when one guy said that Trump was leading in Florida among college degree holding women. Gail King asked the guy to clarify that number in obvious disbelief. I mean, how does Trump lead among educated women? He kinda shrugged in his own disbelief and looked at his tablet, obviously searching for something to show there was an error in the data. At that moment, every news caster at the table looked down at whatever device and tried to find something that made sense to them.

There's going to be a lot of that today.

I'm very anxious for details as to how this came about. Are there going to be howls of regret and calls for a do-over from the stupidly complacent who couldn't be bothered to actually turn up and vote, like there were after the Brexit vote? And how did the disenfranchisement efforts of the past years come into play?

I'll admit i was kinda expecting this considering my province went through the surprising Orange Crush recently and the circumstances are very similar, but if he actually does approve Keystone XL without a nasty game of silly buggers I'll love him forever. http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/trump-oil-good-or-bad-1.3843375

Alien, nytimes.com is probably best.

A lot of racist allegations in this one. Folks seem to think white men "caused" this. If that's true, then they caused Obama's victory too.

Also, what's up with "The hispanic vote" "the black vote" "the white males with college degrees vote" Not for nothing, but the act of lumping people into a single group based on race is, well, racist.

RE: Trump Trump Trump
Not really, no. If your demographic were "urban americans with college degrees," then you're good. But that's not what we had. We had the black vote (all as one block apparently), the hispanic vote (again, as one), and only the whites were broken down by education.

If it's somehow not racist to identify an entire race as single-minded, it's definitely racist not to have a similar demographic analysis across races, like of black males with college degrees.

Do you disagree?
