iTunes still sucks: endless alert messages
This is what happens if I leave iTunes running while away:

It has that 1990s internet user experience, and I don't like it.

Does Apple offer a popup blocker for iTunes?

I'm very close to developing rooTunes.

iTunes confuses the hell out of me and I don't know whether it's their fault or mine.

I use iTunes. It seems to work OK. But it really just chugs along on an ancient iMac so that I can stream my library to the Apple TV.

There seems to be alternatives to that also

Yeah! There were dozens of alert messages stacked up. And none of them said, "I'll never give you up"

I presume you've done so already, but have you tried signing out of the iTunes Store and signing back in?

I haven't done anything, no. Other than complain.

But the popup behind all the popups is asking me to login with my Apple ID.

I seem to recall getting these for a while, too. I can't remember whatever stopped it. I think at one point I did sign out and sign back in, so I suppose it's worth a shot.

This seems cool if you use the computer to drive your speakers: http://www.channld.com/puremusic/
Wouldn't make any difference to those of us who use streaming devices (sonos, appletv)

I never used iTunes in my past two years. slow and hard to use. Actually, there are many free alternatives to iTunes if you search it on google.

RE: iTunes still sucks: endless alert messages
I haven't used iTunes in a very long time. Even when I helped my stepsister copy her pictures off her old iPhone because she really wanted a 7 I used a third party app which name escapes me at the moment (honestly it's a little damning that all the little kids nowadays really want a shiny new iPhone 7 - and will scoff at the nearly identical 6S without any valid justification)

"Nearly identical" – except for the huge leaps in processing, graphics performance, display gamut, waterproofing, and camera, among others.

RE: iTunes still sucks: endless alert messages
admittedly waterproofing is a good idea (ignoring the fact that I have only once lost a phone to water and have NEVER found myself wishing my phone was waterproof), so what? What improvements to display gamut and camera really matter? The iPhone already was among the best in it's class, how much of a useful improvement can it make on a day-to-day basis?

I really suspect that you're falling into a metrics fallacy or something. So what that it's thinner? So what that photos look slightly more realistic? So what that apps launch a fraction of a second faster? Is it really worth a thousand dollars for that? I can do everything you can do on your iPhone with my Moto X Play which only cost me $300, and I genuinely never find myself wishing it was faster or thinner or have a better screen - or even wish it was waterproof. I'll admit the software is stupid and I miss the useful microfeatures of BB10, but I am satisfied with the performance of the hardware. Does it really make that much of a difference?
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

RE: iTunes still sucks: endless alert messages
I'd wager the bigger problem is that potardo has no fucking idea of which he speaks, and is just searching for a reason to bitch about Apple. You don't use iTunes to copy photos from an iPhone; you use whatever image importer on your platform of choice to copy photos from the iPhone (e.g. Photos, Image Capture, whatever Windows uses).

Let me put it this way.

Explain to me, in simple terms, exactly how American politics have devolved into arguing which of two horrible candidates is better instead of a sane third party stepping up and sweeping up the protest votes?
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.
