RE: attn: roo
Trump's a front to get Hillary elected.

If he doesn't get the nom on numbers, he'll threaten to run as an independent and effectively split the Republican voting block, so the establishment will have to give him the party's nomination in some smokey backroom deal.

Nobody except Roo will vote for that sentient cheeto fart in the general election, but it turns the pressure up to 11 on the dems to put "somebody electable" on the ballot, and when all they've got is a felon and the Cryptkeeper, they'll put the felon on the ballot 12 times out of 10.

It's a great big shit sandwich, and we all get to take a bite.

The flaw in that logic is Bernie polls better than Hillary against Republicans.

There's no flaw there.  Hillz may not poll as good as Bern, but she's favored by the wall street and political establishment, which is more important than polling.

I realize that I said he was honest in my first reply, and I can see how that'd be misconstrued to mean honest like Abe when he's really more of a "true to himself" kind of honest.

In the interest of full disclosure, I didn't have the heart to vote for him when it came down to it. I planned to, but I couldn't do it. At least I don't think I did. But golly, it sure is an interesting experience to think about picking one of only two candidates instead of the one that best represents you. And the more that people attach themselves to that notion there are only two ways to vote, the "greater" our nation becomes. The morans in Washington have convinced the country that there are only two choices, and Americans are eating at the trough.

Salute

Look on the bright side: maybe you'll get your "lesser of two evils" candidate in 7 years. In the meanwhile, enjoy my words, they are the best words. I have great posts, people love to read my posts. My posts are some of the best of all time. You're going to love reading my posts, they're tremendous.

Honestly if Bernie had gone independent the moment he lost to Clinton he could've had enough votes for a third party. He'd be scrambling to put a third party together, but he would've been president.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

That's debatable. Minorities weren't voting for Bernie.

RE: attn: roo
He didn't need them. All he needed was enough clout to be a viable third candidate, and then decades of frustration from the lack of choices will be tapped. Anyone new would've been outright ignored and unknown, but he already had an avid voter base that would advertise his third party across social media even if mainstream news ignored it. He'd get a lot of voters jut from the sheer novelty of it. How many of Trump's voters do you really think voted for him because they weighed the choices and decided a completely green businessman was the better choice? He got in because everyone declared him to be the absolute worst choice, yet his name was on the ballot to be president.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

RE: attn: roo
Yes, he did need them. There's simply no way Bernie could have won more votes than Hillary or Trump without minority voters. But, really, even if Bernie had been on the ticket, Trump still would have won.
