Sad  Blackberry
How the fuck do you get data out of a Blackberry? I've got the desktop software ("restart to finish installing the software"?! Seriously? Was this shit written by cave men?). I've paired the damned thing (Curve 8250, apparently) with my Mac. They recognise each other over Bluetooth. Then, everything grinds to a halt. What the fuck.

I can see why that shit is going down the tubes. It fucking sucks ass. This shouldn't be so hard. I was doing this with my Ericsson P800 back in the stone age.

All I want is to get the pictures and contact info out of that piece of shit.

God, Canada sucks.

RE: Blackberry
Use a microusb cable. You should be able to use the one from your charger.

That being said, it IS OS 5.

RE: Blackberry
Oh yeah you're Euro. they must still use the old style elsewhere.

You sure you don't have a MicroUSB cable anywhere? I've got at least three, not including chargers.

Everything is easier when using the Blackberry Desktop Software. Though admittedly if you don't want to sync contacts with Outlook or whatever you're using, then you'll have to use the slightly odd "Sync to file" feature.

It's that same way as trying to use an iPhone without iTunes (particularly a 4yo model). You can only get so far.

What are you doing with an 8250 anyways? Your contract would've expired even if you were on a Canadian 3 year.

RE: Blackberry
I'm trying to extract data from it. Was that not clear?

Apparently such advanced technology was unheard of in Canada three years ago, but I assure you, it was quite possible in the developed world circa 1997.

Well, guess which software has now totally fucked up my MacBook? Nice, going, Blackberry. "We can't compete because of app availability," my ass. Get your shit together, beaver-brained dumbfucks. Has that company been broken up and sold for scrap, yet? Because it deserves to.

It's still a four year old device. It predates Apple maps.

Have you tried moving the photos to the sd card (you'll need to download a file manager that does bulk transfers) and putting the sd card into another phone?

I'm gonna wager that he hasn't jiggled the cord yet. Otherwise this wouldn't be an issue.

While four years is ancient in Technology terms, I'll wager I can find older devices that'll "just work" without much effort.

You're assuming I'm still trying. How quaint. I suppose this is why you think Blackberry is still a viable player in the tech market. You see, normal people just blame Canada and move on to something that works without jumping through flaming hoops and sacrificing Eskimo virgins.

Well there's your problem. They're called "Inuit" and "Eskimo" is a derogatory term.

Funny, I've met Eskimos from Alaska and they don't feel that way about the term.

FD is for once, right. My brother's wife is an inuit and she told me as much. She is from Salluit though. Maybe it is different in other places where inuit lives.
