However, there is some logic to that. If you change a cat's food too quickly - even to a better type of food, it may refuse to eat it or end up throwing up after. So if your cat is used to the nasty ass dry food you get because the packaging is shiny, then to that cat anything of higher quality is nothing more than vomit.

Meanwhile ebola tries it's very hardest to permeate every part of your life, making it extremely difficult to purge it from your system - and pretty much impossible, if the infection is left untreated for too long. it can drill holes through your brain, adding confusion and leaving you vulnerable to other infestations.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

Did that article say anything about this not being new? Apple has rearranged teams several times throughout history to focus in the next priority.

killing off the mac dev team is pretty drastic, especially with iOS being no replacement.

If apple really wanted people to move to the iPad they would port Xcode to it. That would force them to realize how much they actually need to make it a useable OS.

That's not the point. Apple is marketing the iPad as a replacement to the Mac, yet they can't exactly kill off the Mac when it is required for iOS development. But they have effectively put it on long-term life support, with the focus on giving it nothing more than a spit-n-shine every so often as opposed to an overdue overhaul and rethink.

If Apple was to port Xcode to the iPad Pro, then that would also force them to rethink how the OS works. Multitasking? File access? Plugin support? Accessory support? eGPU? All things that they will have to think hard about, as opposed to just ignoring because the iPad is only a toy to them.

But then again, several times you have made it very clear that you believe that the current iPad is the best Apple can do and they are incapable of doing anything better.

I see a future where the Mac line is dead, and all you have are iPads and iPhones. To do Mac work you can plug the iPad Pro into a iMac-like stand with keyboard and mouse and an optional eGPU, or on the go you have a keyboard cover with a kickstand so you can use it like a laptop. In fact, you may be able to get by without an iPad. Borrowing a page from Win10M's Continuum, You can plug your iPhone into a dock which is connected to a screen, keyboard and mouse/trackpad - it's certainly powerful enough for a basic mac and will only become more powerful, but it can also rely on eGPU tech.

This is all stuff that the old Apple would move mountains to achieve, a future where you only have a handful of devices that can handle any task. But the current Apple refuses to consider the evolution and integration of iOS and macOS.

Apple thought about making an iCar and televisions. I haven't seen any of those around anywhere. Someone at Apple probably thought up a space station. Doesn't mean that Apple is ever going to commit to the work required to pull it off.

Some of us are old enough to remember reading the same crap by the same "industry insiders", "tech journalists" and "market analysts", every fucking day, about how Apple were really going to go bankrupt, any second now, and how the only way to save them was to do what Microsoft did. They were raking in the money, after all. That was twenty years ago.

Here's the thing: that "everybody should do the same thing because it's made one specific company very rich" philosophy is crap, always has been. Apple isn't Google isn't Microsoft isn't Amazon. Get over it. If Apple don't offer the product you want, shop elsewhere.

I seem to remember that last time Apple was saved by buying NeXT and hiring Steve Jobs back to be CEO. If history repeats itself all they need to do is hire him back on but oh wait he's dead. And the company keeps going on as if his last words were gospel.
