Blowing bubbles
If you live more than three stories of the ground and not once have (or at least attempted to) blow bubbles off of your patio, then you have not really lived. The bubble jars are only $1 at walmart.
My logic is infallible. Resistance is futile.

Wal-Mart is a horrible company. You should take your one dollar bubble jar business elsewhere.

You're right. I should thing of all the poor asian children working in the bubble sweatshops. In the future I will try to source my bubbles locally.

RE: Blowing bubbles
I'm thinking of the women they didn't give promotions to, the black truck drivers they discriminated against, the employees who have no health care because Wal-Mart won't let them work full time hours and offers the shittiest buy-in health plan ever, the employees who have to collect food stamps because their pay is so low, the mom-and-pop stores who've been put out of business by Wal-Mart's predatory pricing, etc.…

1. Wow are you a debbie downer. This is a thread about blowing bubbles, and you latched onto an irrelevant side comment.

2. This is Canada. Free healthcare for everyone, enforced job rights, and of course the Great American Price Markup of Freedom.

3. It was $1. And where I got it from is irrelevant as it's been refilled so many times with dish soap I got from No Frills.

It's not freedom if fine print is involved.

RE: Blowing bubbles
I'm sorry man. It sounds like you're having a lot of fun blowing bubbles by yourself. I'll bet you'd have even more fun if you had some buddies to blow bubbles with you, however. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I know where you can find some blow buddies.

Karo syrup? Wouldn't plain old corn syrup work just as fine?

RE: Blowing bubbles
When my boss comes in to work, we (his team) always have to go out into the field when he needs a smoke break. I take my bubbles on those excursions.

Do you talk about synergies on these little outings?

No, we mostly talk about filesystems and research.

Not really, more about how our ideas will work when scaled to million-core machines.

The bubbles are really just a prop to (hopefully) convince my boss his addiction is silly, and isn't synergizing our core competency leverage.
